CYNETART Festival cooperates with the DAVE event series spectra and this year's Emergence projects at Objekt klein a, Dresden’s new spot for open space culture and invites the French artist Eric Raynaud to Dresden, who will present his new live performance Vector Field for the first time in Germany.
Fraction presents »Vector Field«
Audiovisual artist Eric Raynaud, aka Fraction, presents »Vector Field«, a new audio visual performance in which the artist explores real time manipulation of a vectorial stream. This stream is created by sound as an ode to the ‘art of transformation’. Following ‘Entropia’, Fraction, in this new performance continues to focus on synergistic structures as the main language in which to tackle metaphysical themes. These themes question both the relationship between physics and space, and the relationship between humanity’s place in a humanly shaped environment and humanity’s destination in a apparently meaningless universe. As with many of today's scientists, the artist believes and states that time does not actually exist. Rather it is the human perception of a change in transitory states. There is no before, and there will be no after. There is no past. There is no future. In ‘Vector Field’, Fraction streamlines a three dimensional homophonic structure, from the principle that there is no before, no after, no past and no future, using deliberate references to the science of topology and the common representation of sound waves in occidental culture. These references provide an aesthetic framework for a computer-generated vortical flow embodying an elusive landscape, as if a continuum was slipping out from the artist’s inner perception.
