For centuries, generations of scientists have tried to create a coherent worldview. How well do we understand the world in which we live in - where are the limits of our knowledge? A universe full of fascinating phenomena invites one to wonder, from the quantum mechanical world of the very smallest to the event horizon of black holes. The German theoretical astrophysicist Dr. Josef M. Gaßner will present the state of the art vividly.

DR. JOSEF M. GASSNER is a German astronomer, mathematician and physicist. He studied mathematics in Regensburg, followed by physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, and in 2008 he doctorate gave theoretical astrophysics about calculations for primordial nucleosynthesis. Gaßner works as researcher at the University Observatory in Munich and as a professor for astronomy and cosmology at the University of Applied Sciences in Landshut.
