DELUSIONAL MANDALA The artist created a digital nonsexual human simulator in her own shape for the first time to complete an artwork. This work is all about neurosciences. Lu makes use of the principle of the stereotactic system, the deep brain stimulation and rTMS working on the deep limbic system, in order to extend delusions, substitute into religious perspective and fugacious meditation on the material world. This work questions if consciousness ist adhere to the brain? Where on earth is consciousness? It can be sure that these delusions will eventually come true.

LU YANG, *1984 in Shanghai, lives and works in Shanghai and Beijing, studied new media under Zhang Peili. Her works revolve largely around her interest in sub-culture with biological and technological art as her main forms of media. She says: “Having a skeptical stance towards ethics in art and morality issues, I have chosen to express and explore my creative concept through the employment of living organism and technological art in my work.” Her works have been exhibited extensively in China and internationally.
