Playing on the keyboard of our mind

How reality is constructed in art and politics

Art, while having different intentions to politics, aims similarly at generating psychic realities. While art rather playfully and creatively constructs realities of special aesthetic and affective attractiveness, media and politics aim at manipulating our understanding of society in a way favourable to politics itself. Art and politics utilize some of our mind’s specific properties and principles. The underlying rules will be illustrated in examples from both fields.
