THE ZENBOT PRIME KNOTS SERIES
15 drawings, Video, 2015
The 15 drawings of "The Zenbot Prime Knots Series“ were made with a “Zenbot” CNC-machine, with ink and brush instead of a cutting tool, in the tradition of Zen Buddhist sumi-e painting exploring the robot arm’s artistic sensibilities in terms of chance vs. control and the trace of the hand as conveyor of mind/no-mind. The motifs of the drawings are of mathematical knot theory charts, variations of closed knots, which are all variations of the circle or the enso , the zen Buddhist symbol of enlightenment, the universe and the void.

THE ZENBOT PRIME KNOTS SERIES RICKARD LJUNGDAHL EKLUND Born in 1987, Stockholm. Currently lives and works between Berlin and Gothenburg. Educated at Valand Academy in Gothenburg, receiving an MFA degree in 2014. He makes multi-media installations around conceptual themes, often inspired by myths and dreams, semiotics, printmaking and optical effects, among other things - telling stories or exploring combinations of knowledge systems in visual form.

SOUNDS OF SATELLITES
Space may be an anechoic place, but it is no longer empty. An expansive sound installation allows the visitor to experience the incorporeal but constant existence of men-made objects flying above our heads.
